At the request of a blog reader, I started designing and sharing heritage wallpapers for Black History Month in February. Then came Women’s History Month and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. I plan on continuing.

Before we move on… I love designing these wallpapers and enjoy learning the history of each heritage month.
On April 20, 2006 President Bush issued the first proclamation designating May 2006 as Jewish American Heritage Month.
May was chosen due to the successful celebration of the 350th Anniversary of American Jewish History in May 2004, organized by the Commission for Commemorating 350 Years of American Jewish History.
I chose to use myrtle flowers for some wallpapers because they symbolize success and the eternity of life. In Judaism it is customary to bless on wine and myrtle in the circumcision, redemption of the first born, and havdalah rituals.
Why the color blue?
In Judaism, blue is the symbol of divinity – the color of the ocean and sky.
Are you more of a Monday start wallpaper person? Let’s take a look at the desktop and phone options
And finally, below are my no calendar desktop and phone options.
Oh but first, do you like the heritage month wallpaper idea? I’ll be sharing options for the following heritage months:
- February: Black History Month
- March: Women’s History Month
- May: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
- May: Jewish American Heritage Month
- June: LGBTQ+ Pride Month
- July: Disability Pride Month
- September: Hispanic Heritage Month
- November: Native American Heritage Month
Back to the no calendar options!
Sometimes I like these options so I can keep them up on my desktop and phone longer.
I hope you enjoy these wallpapers and learned a little bit about the Jewish American Heritage Month. I know I did!
