Remember way back in August when I DIYed these Animal Jars?
Well, I was inspired to keep the theme going with some DIY Dinosaur place card holders.
These guys are so easy and really take no time to create.
What you need:
+ Plastic Dinosaur Toys (I got mine at Dollar Tree 2/$1)
+ Spray paint in your favorite color (I opted for a metallic gold)
+ Mitre hand saw
+ Paper and calligraphy pen (or design software and a printer)
Take your toy and spray paint it. Once it dries, take your mitre saw and carefully saw back
and forth until you are approximately .5″ – .75″ deep. Be careful and go slow…let’s keep
those digits in tact! 🙂
Wipe it clean and insert your place card. I used Adobe Illustrator and the font Bombshell Pro for
mine and then printed and cut the place cards. If you are skilled at calligraphy I say go that
route. Much cooler and more personalized in my opinion.
Place it in your table setting and be prepared for your dinner guests to be wowed!
You can do the place cards with mini dinosaurs as well – there are no rules.
I decided not to stop there (because that’s just how I roll). I found an old candle holder
and gathered my super glue and a smaller dino toy (from the jar project).
I super glued the dino to the edge of the candle holder, and once it dried, I spray painted
it with the same gold metallic spray paint.
Finally I plopped a candle on that bad boy, and bam! Kinda cute huh?
The moral of the story…basically spray paint makes anything awesome.

I totally needed another excuse to cut up and paint little animals. Now I have one! (Of course, spraypaint is infinitely more efficient than idiotically using gold nail polish like I did last time. Oh, the fumes!
So cute and so easy!!!
