COCKTAILS // GINGER PEACH WINE SPRITZER

My friend Renee Dinsmore (aka the cocktail connoisseur) is back with another delicious recipe. Yay! 🙂

It’s Mother’s Day this weekend. Who else is hosting brunch this Sunday? May I suggest a super easy drink that will please a diverse crowd? My love for the sparkling water trend continues. It allows old drinks to be revived with a fresh twist – like the white wine spritzer. This Ginger Peach Wine Spritzer is super easy to make with only two ingredients, and it will cut your wine budget in half.

You need a bottle of your favorite white wine – cheap does the trick in this recipe. And you will need some Simply Balanced Ginger Peach sparkling water from Target. If you can’t find that flavor or can’t go to Target, La Croix’s Peach Pear flavor will work.

COCKTAILS // GINGER PEACH WINE SPRITZER

Pour half a glass of white wine and top the other half with Ginger Peach (or Peach Pear) sparkling water. It is that easy. Keep the wine and water chilled in the refrigerator or a beverage tub, when you are not serving it.

It’s not a sweet drink, which means you can balance it with sweets at brunch like French toast or pastries. It also pairs well with eggs and a number of salty entrees.  If you are looking for a sweeter drink, I recommend choosing a sweeter white wine like Riesling. What I really like about the white wine and sparkling water pairing is that it smooths out the wine, especially if you go for the bargain wine aisle.

TIP: You can also fresh basil and ice to the cocktail to fancy it up a notch (like the example above).

Ingredients

(Yields 8-10 drinks)

  • 1 bottle white wine, Sauvignon blanc or Reisling for a sweeter drink; chardonnay, Pinot Grigio , or your preferred white of choice, otherwise
  • 4-5 cans of Simply Balanced (Target brand) Ginger Peach unsweetened sparkling water; La Croix’s Peach Pear flavor works too

Pour half a glass of chilled wine and top the other half of the glass with sparkling water. Keep the wine and water chilled when not serving.

Enjoy, and Happy Mother’s Day!
