DIY // MASTER BATHROOM (PART 1)

You might have seen a few weeks back on my Instagram where I shared photos of our hideous carpeted master bathroom.

Seriously who thinks carpet in a master bathroom is a good idea?? Well someone in 2002 sure did.

We have lived in the house five years (to this very day in fact), and I’m embarrassed to admit that it took us five years to remove it and replace with tile, but we have been busy on other projects around the house. We also had big plans to repaint over the original wall paint and to replace all wall tile with white subway tile, but we just flat out ran out of time.

Literally 10 minutes before our open house this weekend, the bathroom was as finished as it could get (can you say STRESS?!).

Here we are the night before after midnight. My apologies for the “duck lips” – it was late and we were delirious, ha.

And here are the before pics.

Apparently I am a terrible mirror cleaner. 🙂

The tile alone makes a big difference, and feels SO much more clean and modern. Goodbye carpet, I’ll miss you never.

The project cost us a total of $500 for all of the supplies. We saved  a lot of money having Ted do it DIY style. I’m guessing it would have been $1,200-$1,500 to hire it out. We got the tile at Lowe’s, and used a 10% off coupon, which helped a little.

You can check out our home tour here. I’ll be posting photos of the rest of our updated house (not yet shown in the home tour) throughout this week, so stay tuned. 🙂

xoxo
